Privacy Policy — KanaRead
1. Who we are
KanaRead is developed and maintained by David Badin as a personal hobby project. @gmail.com contact: badin.david
2. What data the app processes
KanaRead is a Japanese kana practice app. It runs entirely on your device and does not have a server backend, user accounts, or login.
- Practice records (best score, average time, streak counts) are stored locally in an on-device Room/SQLite database, accessible only to KanaRead.
- App preferences (selected kana mode, theme) are stored locally on your device.
- No personal data (name, email, contacts, location, photos, account identifiers) is collected.
- No advertising IDs are read or shared.
- No internet permissions are required. KanaRead does not transmit data over the network.
3. Data sharing
Because no data leaves your device, no data is shared with third parties, advertisers, analytics providers, or anyone else.
4. Data retention & deletion
All local data persists on your device until you remove it. You can delete all KanaRead data at any time by:
- Going to Settings → Apps → KanaRead → Storage → Clear data, or
- Uninstalling the app.
5. Permissions
KanaRead requests no runtime permissions. It does not access the camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, calendar, or any other sensitive resource.
6. Children
KanaRead is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Security
Practice data is stored using standard Android app sandbox protections. Because no data is transmitted, there are no network-based risks.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date.
